Meet Rustie Boy

Happy National Dog Day. This boy came into my life 3 years ago. I remembered once I arrived at the airport, my brother picked me up and we drove straight to the pet shop to meet Rustie. This was after the big decision of me moving back to Malaysia.

The first time I saw him, he was a scared little puppy, rather skinny as well. I had him on my lap, he was clinging on me out of fear, and he vomited all over me and the car seat. Up till today, Rustie still gets motion sickness occasionally (just like the owner, haha!)

I didn't know what it was going to be like having a new puppy and pretty much being responsible for him. Looking back, he made my move back to Malaysia a lot easier - he helped me heal after a painful breakup, made me a more compassionate and patient person and never fail to put a smile on my face whenever he's around me. He's my joy.

It's incredible the amount of love we can have for our pets and how we grow to be so attached to them. They're so loving, forever faithful, always happy and so pure. We all need a little bit of those qualities.

I saw a social experiment recently where this guy went around offering dog owners $100,000 to sell their dog to him. NO BODY took that offer because their buddy meant so much more than $100k.

What does your pet mean to you? Let me know in the comments below. Do share a picture of your buddy because I'd love to see him/her.
